I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of our tireless volunteers who serve in the Capshaw Kid's Company! We are growing, so we need MORE volunteers (A GREAT THING!!), but for those who serve once a week, or once a month...THANK YOU! Your service does not go unnoticed, and as Romans 12 reminds us, this too is a 'spiritual act of worship'!
I could thank each of you individually, but here are a few highlights from this week:
Maggie Campbell -- You are awesome at what you do, and I'm so thankful for your leadership in VBS!
Barb Porter -- 'Thank you' will never be enough for all you do for Wee Worship! You are an excellent teacher and I appreciate you and Jennifer loving those children like you do.
The McMullan Sunday School Class -- Thanks for taking time from your busy schedules to do a 'deep clean' in the Preschool Wing this week! I appreciate your efforts greatly!
There are SOOOO many more of you that bless me each and every week. There is not enough room here to write your names...
May the Lord bless EACH of you as you continue to serve HIM at Capshaw!
Serving HIM together,
Suzanne

VBS - 'Outrigger Island'

Hey ya'll! It's been awhile since I've blogged, but I'm back and ready to hear from YOU! What have you been up to? Jot me a quick note and let me know how you're doing!
Guess WHAT? Vacation Bible School Kick-off is FINALLY here! Get ready to 'Catch the Wave' with us THIS Sunday, April 13th. You'll see a fun video and check out my announcements... they are going to be WAY COOL - I have some helpers that you'll be excited about. I have a challenge for you: Start thinking of AT LEAST one person to bring to VBS. This is a great way to not only introduce your friends to Capshaw, but maybe they will understand who Jesus is for the first time. That's our goal in life, right!? We want people to come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. We can be missionaries in our own BACK YARD!
VBS is just around the corner... how are YOU going to get the word out??!!

Three in ONE
Hey kids!
I hope you had a GREAT day off on Monday! I'm sure it was nice to have a break from school and have a long weekend.
I heard something awhile back, and wanted to share it with you. I know you've learned about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit being 3 in 1. They are called the "Trinity". Has that ever confused you? I mean, it's a tough concept to think about, but by FAITH, I take God's Word to be true and believe it!
Let me explain it this way: Think of a hard boiled egg -- it has 3 parts. The shell, the white part, and the yellow (yolk). Is it 3 eggs? Nope, it's still just one egg, and yet they are all different PARTS of the egg. That's a great way to think about the Trinity when you get confused, or if someone asks you to explain it. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are different, but they are still ONE!
CHALLENGE: At the dinner table this week, explain to your parents what you learned about the Trinity. Tell them about the egg and how, just like the Trinity, it's 3 in 1! Leave a comment here to let us know you did it. The first 3 posts will get a special prize from me!

Standing Alone
Hey Kids! I hope you are having a GREAT week. I'm praying that many of you will be able to visit our new site and get some encouragement from me and from each other!
Today, I want to talk to you about 'standing alone'. Have you ever had to do that? I know it's not easy, but do you know who our GREATEST example is in standing alone? That's right, it's Jesus. There were many times that when everyone was doing the opposite thing, He stood alone and obeyed His Father in Heaven.
Take an opportunity this week to stand alone. For example, when everyone in your class is talking and you are supposed to be listening, STAND ALONE and obey your teacher. Guess who else you are obeying? That's right, it's Jesus, and He will be pleased with your obedience. I Peter 5:9 tells us to "STAND FIRM in the faith." When you take a stand for Jesus, you are being a witness for Him! Remember what that song says? "Obedience is the very BEST way, to show that you believe" !
Click on the word 'comment' and let me know how you took a stand for Jesus this week! I'm praying for you every day, and want to know how Jesus is working in your lives.
Have an AWESOME week!

Welcome!
This is our very first blog for the Capshaw Kid's Company! I want to welcome parents and children. It is my desire to use this as an opportunity to encourage you, to get you to THINK (not too hard!), and learn to know Jesus even more!
Kids, you will be able to ask questions and leave a comment for me. Ask mom and dad for permission and for their help on this. I may not post EVERY day, but I'm going to do my best to do it a couple of times a week. Don't miss out! If mom and dad give the 'OK', come back often see what we're doing here. I'll be giving announcements, reminders and info you don't want to miss!
I'm so excited to see what God is going to do in each of us this year!
I love you! Miss Suzanne
